Why do a lot of drivers believe "Advanced driving" means high speed, handbrake turns, drifting etc and not skilled control, planning & anticipation and consideration for others?

It could be in the History, I can remember when the buzz word went from "Advanced driving" to "Defensive driving" to "Performance driving" and now back to "Advanced driving"

Today's seems to be survival training. IMO
