Hi every one just joined hope there are lots of juicy topics to look at and comment on, I'm James and work in and around the ashfield centre in notts, worked for Bsm for 2 years and a local school for 2 years and now I'm an independant this past year, I love my job but I'm beginning to look around for part time work because of cancellations, its just hard knowing I am not guaranteed a penny next week if every body cancels (worst case ) lost £350 January and £300 Feb but march is cancel free at moment, I usually do 1 hour lessons but do offer 2 hrs and have 30 pupils at moment with 2 inactive, (financial). I work in a fairly deprived area, with loads of ADI's cutting prices left right and centre, and offer quality over cheap lessons, hope thats not too much info for first post Razz

Hi James,
Welcome to our forum, a fairly new ADI community. Do you have a cancellation policy for your pupils? Or have you thought about other types of work? With your experience you could expand your horizons with diversionary schemes or fleet.
Do keep posting, we look forward to your input.

I've never liked the cancellation policy I always give the spiel at the beginning of first lesson that I need 48 hrs notice or there will be a charge but its a fairly poor area now more than ever, and I've only ever charged a couple of pupils and i end up giving them the time back anyway, I know if I'm hard and charge them it will sort it one way or the other , and the decent ones always offer the money too. but I'm a bit daft and a sucker for a hard luck story.........
